In 2023, I developed the identity system for the local Louisville organization, Network + Chill. Inspired by their focus on community. The circle served a motif that shaped most of the design elements from the halftone to the logo.
Research
The client was seeking a strong, bold look for their visual identity. They already had red and black as established brand colors, but no cohesive identity. I looked to their values of inclusivity and authenticity, and reflected them in the brand motif with the circle. The motif of the circle is present in the logo, half-tone pattern, and the roundness of the wordmark, emphasizing the concept of community.
Wordmark
The wordmark is comprised of a heavily altered version of the typeface Basenji and a handmade script. Accomplishing the bold visual style requested with a unique twist.
Logo
The logo takes different elements from the wordmark and reimagines them. Surrounding the “N” with the “C,” calling back to the motif of the circle, and closing off that circle with the plus that ties “network” and “chill” together.
